In a General Average, it is the shipowners and/or the charterers who bear the burden of gathering the necessary details concerning the cargo and other interests onboard, obtaining the required security and promptly releasing the cargo to its receivers. Braden Marine can assist shipowners, charterers and other General Average adjusters in the collection of the security at the outset and effecting settlements with the various parties, upon completion of an adjustment.

The salvage of a vessel will usually lead to security being required by salvors from the various parties involved in the salved vessel and its cargo. Braden Marine also collects salvage security, either independently or in conjunction with the collection of General Average security.
