10. Are
Average Adjusters employed for matters other than insurance claims?
Yes. The skills needed to properly assess the circumstances of a marine casualty and the potential recovery under a policy of insurance can also be directed towards the analysis of other marine occurrences that do not necessarily involve insurance coverage.
Average Adjusters can also assist in the quantification of claims against third parties. Such claims may be for the recovery of the cost of repairs for physical damage, whether insured or not, and can include loss of business revenue, interest thereon and other costs. When a recovery is realized in such a situation, for the benefit of the claimant and Underwriters, if applicable, a division will usually be required amongst the various interests.
Braden Marine has assisted parties or their lawyers in stating the quantum of a recovery claim to be put forward or in responding to the quantum of a claim against a party defending its position.
